Zoo Trip

We went to the zoo on Monday, along with just about everyone in the state I believe. It was crazy crowded! This was Hannah's first real zoo trip. She went to the Lights Before Christmas, but didn't see many animals at all then. She seemed to enjoy herself while we were there. She had the "Hannah face" a lot and was so observant. She found all the animals and had no fear when it came to touching some. She loved the goat and of course the lorikeets. We were washing her hands at the hand washing station before we left the lorikeet cage, and a lorikeet decided to join us to play in the water. Before any of us knew what was happening, Hannah had grabbed the lorikeet around it's head and was squeezing. She had no fear, but I'm sure the poor bird did. We got to see the new baby giraffe and the new kangaroos were snoozing in the shade, so we didn't get a good look at them, but they are there now. It was a hot afternoon, especially since Hannah had to be held to see most of the animals, but she was a good girl and kept her hat on, most of the time! It was a successful zoo outing :)
