Helping

Hannah was a big helper last week.

She helped Daddy clean the lawn mower (the water was too fun to resist).
She helped Mommy make and eat chocolate chip cookies (notice the chocolate on the head).
She helped transfer the laundry from the washer to the dryer. Some of the clothes were too much fun though...

And on a side note, the sickness saga continues. Friday she had another temperature and a runny nose. This morning she was up at 4:30 am and naps are not happening. She did feel better (and was fever free) and was able to help Madeline celebrate her 2nd birthday this morning. Hopefully she'll continue to improve and be fine for school on Monday!

Fun Week, ha ha ha

So it's been a "fun" week. No pictures to post. Sorry. Just a few words about my absence. Last week I headed off to school and Hannah went to daycare for 2 halfish days and 1 full day. It was a little interesting in the mornings apparently, but she was fine in the afternoons and having a ball when I picked her up. Thursday and Friday she got spoiled by the Grandmas.

This week was a different story. Sunday night I realized she felt warm. Her temp was over 103. Justin was able to take Monday off. Tuesday, same. Called my mom and she came for the day. Tuesday night, the eve before students, I'm heading to bed and the sickness takes on a new turn. Vomit. Down my shirt, in my shorts and hair. It was fun. After multiple showers that night and getting to bed VERY late I managed to get myself to school to greet new students and parents at 7am. Nana took Hannah to the Dr. and it was indeed a virus. She seemed a little better that afternoon but her temp was 104 that night. She hasn't been sleeping through the night and has been waking up super early. Not the best timing (for Mommy) to be sick. There was no way I could get a sub for the first 3 days of school. Today, Friday, she has been fever free and the rash that has developed is apparently a sign that the virus is outta here. Will she sleep tonight?

We are so very thankful for Hannah's Nana and Mimi. I'm not sure how this week would have happened without them. We love you guys!

Thanks for reading my sleep deprived rambles :). I"m off to bed despite the fact my husband isn't home yet (after 9pm). I guess I'll see him tomorrow.

Quick Updates

Hannah loves the water. She has the best time playing in it, whether it's the big neighborhood pool, her little inflatable pool, the bathtub, or the water hose. She had the best time with Justin and the water hose on Saturday. Hopefully she'll grow up to love the water like her parents do!
Hannah has really started to be the "Mommy" with her "babies". She likes to feed them, dress them, and the other day she decided that Winnie the Pooh needed a fresh diaper. She got everything out and ready but got mad when she couldn't get the sides fastened.

Sunday late afternoon, Heather and I took the girls to the Corley Street Park. They had a great time! Maddie immediately loved the water (it falls from a palm tree). Hannah had to warm up to it (which surprised me), but by the end she was right up in it and stomping around. They had fun with the park in general too. They went swinging side by side, down the slide, up the steps, through the tunnels and had fun with the neat musical instruments. They are so cute together!

Family trip to the Zoo

Today was the perfect day for a trip to the zoo. Justin is off this week so we looked at the weather forecast and decided Monday would be the best day. It really was. It was by far the best zoo experience I've ever had (and I've been a lot with second graders and babysitting). The sun was hidden by heavy clouds, and the temperature never got above 84. There was hardly anyone there so we had great views of everything. AND...the animals were all out and about! We actually saw the Koalas awake. They were eating and jumping (yes, they jump!) around. The tiger was "roaring" and the giraffes were getting up close and personal. Hannah was a little more timid this time than last. She didn't want to touch anything at the barn, but she did try to hop with the rabbits and she "mooed" with the cow. At the lorikeets, she was terrified.

This picture was taken right before the lorikeet on my head peed. Yes, right down my scalp. The things we do for our children. One of the birds landed on Hannah's back and she freaked out. Much different from April when she about popped the eyes out of one by squeezing it.
I can do this all by myself!

Tea Party with Madeline

Hannah had her first tea party with a friend! Madeline came over to play one evening last week and the girls had a blast. They are so much fun to watch now because they actually play with each other. They would take turns pouring the tea and handing it to the other girl. It was adorable! (notice Hannah's reading medal from the library around her neck - she loves that thing)
