Snowshoe Mountain

The pool was really great. It's the first year we've gone to it, and we're so glad we did. It had a heated outdoor and heated indoor section with a "dogie door" between the two. The indoor pool was perfect for little ones. It had a tree in the middle with water shooting out, and little water shoots coming out of the ground that shot bubbles up to the top. Hannah loved those. There was also a great water slide that Justin and Hannah went down several times.
While at the pool at little boy came up to Hannah, kissed her hand, and said "I love you!". As his dad came to drag him away, Hannah threw out her arms and squealed at him. She didn't want him to leave. Luckily for us, Nana was videotaping at the time and caught it all on tape.
This gigantic chair was in the village. Hannah hated it! She cried the whole time we were sitting in it. It was very random

I have been saying for a few weeks that I thought Hannah should get a rocking chair for her birthday. She loves to rock. We walked into the lodge and the first thing we saw was a Hannah sized rocking chair. She immediately started rocking and loved it. Nana and Hannah visited the chair several times throughout the weekend.

It was a good trip, as Justin, Dad and I got some really great skiing in. However, having a sick baby (found out the Monday we got home she had an ear infection and serious congestion) who only slept for about 4 hours in a 24 hour period, wasn't so fun. We're looking forward to next year though. AND...we found out that in the month of March (when we always go) children under 12 ski free! It'll be here before we know it.

11 Months Old

I am almost a week late posting these, well 5 days to be exact, but it's been a busy week. Hannah had her first ear infection and went to the doctor on her 11th month birthday. I still took pictures though! We were gone all last weekend (post to come soon!) and I had to play catch-up at work, there was Aunt Jess's Fashion Show and Kelly Surprise Baby Shower. Whew. It was a busy week.

Some Highlights From This Month:
  • walks a few steps at a time
  • really wants to walk everywhere
  • tries to repeat what you are saying
  • says several words: baby, mama, dada, and uhoh is her favorite
  • loves to play with Madeline
  • has had her first ear infection
  • went down her first water slide
  • took her first 8 hour car ride (not so successfully I might add)
  • a her first boy say "I love you" and kiss her hand (I kid you not)
  • still loves to eat all things green and absolutely loves her yogurt melts and cottage cheese
  • weighs 21 pounds (thanks to the Dr. visit on her 11th month birthday)
  • is wearing 12 month clothes (she outgrown 9 months quickly)

Walking Pictures

Balloon Pictures

Happy Birthday Mary Alice! I loved playing at your party. The ice cream was great, but mom wouldn't let me have any cake yet. I had fun with your new toys, and loved the balloon you let me take home.

Love,
Hannah

Step by Step

Hannah has taking the momentous first steps. Where has my baby gone?

Saturday after Mary Alice's birthday (where Hannah was pushing Madeline on the riding toy - too precious) Hannah was super excited about the pink polka-dot balloon she got at the party. We came home and took some pictures with the balloon (I'll post later, no time now). While we were taking pictures, Hannah took a few steps to Justin. Since Saturday she's taken a few each day, and Mimi got to see her take 3 steps today.

Where has my baby gone?

A Week in Pictures

Last Friday, Hannah spent the day at Nana's house since Mimi was still in SD. I drove over to Irmo to pick her up (this was the talking evening) and ate dinner with my parents. It was a wonderful evening, as I haven't done that in so long! I used to do it almost every Friday night after I'd driven home from Rock Hill while I waited for Justin to get off work. Anyway...Last August Nana bought Hannah a little tricycle at the Belles and Beaus Consignment Sale. She pulled it out last week and Hannah had a great time with it. She apparently would even swing her leg over the side to get on and off. By the time I got there to take pictures she was a little tired of it, but still had some fun.

On Saturday and Sunday Justin spent some time in the side yard. Hannah discovered she could see him out the side window, so we pulled up the blinds and she hung out by the window. She literally played by the window all weekend. She would bang on the window and try to get Justin's attention "Dada!!!". It was priceless.

Last night my mom and I went to the Spring Belles & Beaus Consignment Sale while Mimi and Papa John stayed with Hannah. Nana bought Hannah a laptop. Hannah immediately like to listen to it and push the buttons. Nana took it home with her, but I know Hannah will enjoy it in the future!

Today there was no school. Yippee!!! This morning, Hannah dumped everything out of her toy crate and put it on her head. I would pull it off and she was put it back on. She would lean into the mesh and look at me an giggle. She played under the crate for quite a while.

On a whim, I put an episode of Blue's Clues on for Hannah to "watch". She never pays attention to the TV, but she loved Blue. Our TV is up too high for her, so I sat her on her little garden bench. She watched intently for about 5 minutes and then got up to dance when they started playing instruments. It wasn't long, but it was nice to know she can sit still :). I'm happy she isn't glued to the TV, but it was sweet to watch her get so excited.

First Word (s)

Hannah is quite a chatter. She has some days when she just doesn't ever stop. She has said a lot that we could "claim" as first words: mamama, dadadada, but we don't really claim them because we know she isn't really using them like the are supposed to be used. However, we can now say she has officially said her first word.

It started this week when she said "dadak" and pointed to Kodak as he was coming in the door. We know she was referring to Kodak but it wasn't clearly his name.

Then, yesterday evening at Nana and Granddaddy's house we were helping Nana do some things on the computer before we ate dinner and Hannah was sitting on Nana's lap. The desktop background is a picture of Hannah at 4 months old. Granddaddy pointed at the computer and said "Baby Hannah". Hannah pointed and said "Baby". It was clear as day. Every single syllable was there and said correctly. We all look at each other and at her and then the three of us started pointing and saying "Baby Hannah" again. She said it again! What a random first word :)

PS. She said it again this morning looking at the pictures on our refrigerator. She's always loved to look at pictures of herself, so maybe the word isn't as random as we thought.

Sorry, no pictures today, but hopefully soon we'll get the pictures off of Nana's camera. Hannah loved riding her little trike yesterday at Nana's and Granddaddy's.
