8 Months old (already)

Where does the time go. I feel like I was just doing this for 7 months. I am not posting a huge list this month, just going to add a few new highlights.

• not crawling, but sort of trying, his efforts just get him scooting backwards and then frustrated
• wants to eat with his hands all the time, loves chicken he can feed himself
• may turn into a puff, as he loves them so much
• says "Mama" but I'm not counting that as a first word yet. I can't tell if it's me he is saying or if he is actually saying "more"
• has a new bottom tooth (for a total of 2)
• loves to be tickled

 

They don't really look alike in this side by side comparison, but for my birthday Justin got a portrait of him and Hayden to match the one of me and Hannah. It just happened to be almost the exact same age. When you put the two pictures beside each other, they look like pictures of the same kid, just with a different parent. I will try to take a snapshot sometime soon and post it. It's unreal how much alike they look. Hannah is just smaller and thinner.

Daddy's Week off

Justin had last weekend off. He spent most of his time getting stuff done around the house and running much needed errands (haircut!!!). Usually we head to the Zoo on one of his days off so he can enjoy Hannah at the zoo like I get to do more often. This time, he got to play with Hayden too. Hayden really was quite observant (just like his sister was) and studied everything he saw. The monkeys were really acting up when we got there and we went to see them first before they got tired and stopped whooping and swinging. We ate a picnic lunch and hit all the highlights. Of course, Hannah's favorite part this time was finding a penny and then later a quarter. She is saving them to take back next time, with one of her piggy bank quarters, and get one of the souvenir pennies. We had some other fun throughout the week, including a last minute Easter Egg Hunt with our neighbor Bailey and her Daddy at their church.

Beautiful Weather Weekend

poor guy had a fever all day Saturday, but was happiest outside in the fresh air, even though we still didn't get any of our usual smiles...still don't know what was going on, but we are thinking teething again maybe? No fever at all on Sunday.
