Check Up

I went to my first check up this week. Up until now the appointments have been pretty long, either for ultrasounds or blood work or lovely girly exams. This time it was very quick. I only took a half a day off and was back at school in plenty of time. Dr. K measured my tummy and found the heartbeat on the little handheld Doppler. She found the heartbeat right away which was a relief to me! She said the measurements and numbers were all perfect. She also gave me some sample vitamins, now that I can successfully swallow a pill (it's still not easy, but it can happen). I have taken a vitamin two days in a row and it's stayed down. Yahoo! I'm also on a new medication for heartburn/reflux that will hopefully help eliminate the reason I keep throwing up. It's too soon to tell if it will do any good yet. I also officially gained a pound! Dr. K isn't worried about my weight gain yet, because she's happy that I'm not losing anymore, as am I. I am starting to get some energy back, but it quickly goes away around 8:00 and then I'm done. Kodak has been on a couple short walks (a far cry from the walk/run we used to take every single day) and yesterday I actually accomplished a few things around the house, including making pancakes for Justin. He can no longer say that I haven't cooked for him in 17 weeks!

More Pictures & Sickness

Since there are no recent pictures of Roo (we have to wait until December), I'll have to show you Roo via his mommy. The pictures were taken at 12 weeks and then 16 weeks.

On a positive note, I can drink milk now. I have been drinking it all week and keeping it down. Although there have been some vomiting moments, I don't think the milk is the cause. Now I'm just hoping to keep down some vitamins (very unsuccessful thus far). Thursday and Friday were really bad for me. The nausea had pretty much gone away (only to be replaced with vomiting without warning) for the past few weeks, until this Thursday and Friday. Both days were rough at school and rough throughout the evening. I didn't throw up either day, but dry heaving and gagging are not high on my wish list either! So there is the update... Hopefully the next one will be filled with even more good newes :)

Blogging Help Needed

I know this has nothing to do with little Roo, however I need some blogging help. I have added a ticker but it is too big. Does anyone with blogging experience have any idea how to make it smaller? I'd appreciate any help you can give! I can't spend too long trying to figure it out myself! Justin is already afraid I'm going to become addicted, I have to prove him wrong!

It's A Roo!

So I admit that I am pretty terrible with keeping in touch with people. I always have great intentions, really I do, it just doesn't happen. I did a much better job before I had email. I loved writing a card, putting a stamp on it and sending it to someone. I was a terrific penpal. I am attempting this blog to keep other's informed on what is going on in my and Justin's life. Hopefully I will be better at posting pictures and thoughts than I am at responding to emails. Keep your fingers crossed!

So...why this need for sudden communication you ask? It's a Roo! That makes no sense to anyone but the Millers and Vitters but I will try to give you the short version. Justin and I are having a baby! Some of you already know this exciting information, but some don't. Now you know why I need to communicate better. Everyone is asking how things are going and I'm excited to share but haven't done a fantastic job. I have been super sick so that is one good reason (excuse), but probably the only one.

Roo is our baby. The name comes from an inside joke with Jessica and Jeffry on a Miller/Vitters ski trip last winter. The long story short is that if we have a boy his name will come from Justin's Grandpa. His first name happened to be Rueben. No worries, that's not on the list - the middle name is. However, Jessica and Jeffry loved that idea and immediately started calling our yet-to- be-conceived child "Roo". We when told our families we were having a baby both Jessica and Jeffry said something to the effect of "It's a Roo". So Roo it is, until a real name is given. Even then, Roo it will always be to some people.

I am starting my 16th week and the due date is May 1, 2009. I will give more details later but this post has become amazingly long, so that's it for now. I PROMISE to post again very soon.
