Game Day. Go Cocks!

The video does not depict how well he can walk holding on. He does a good job holding on to a grown-ups hands, or the wall, or whatever. Hannah is not quite as steady for him :)  One day, our little guy will actually walk alone...

Zoo with Da-da

I remembered to take my Flip camera to the zoo, thanks to Aunt Jess reminding me and asking for a video of the kids. I happened to catch my kids in some fun moments. Hannah was bossing around the goats, shocker. Hayden liked to look but he wasn't so sure of the "dog-dog" being so close.

We usually try to hit the zoo on one of Justin's days off during one of his vacation weeks. We went back in March during his vacation, but decided to do it again since Hayden is so much older and could maybe get something out of it. He loved watching the penguins swim, the animals were all "dog-dog" (which I predicted) and the aquarium was his absolute favorite.Hannah as usual loved it all. She wants to feed everything but then gets scared of their tongues (especially the giraffe). We ended up getting rained on right at the very end, but my gold personality shined through and I produced 3 small umbrellas, including Hannah's Ariel one, and we all stayed dry walking back to the tram and then walking through the gardens to the car. The only thing that got wet really was the wagon. We ended our fun with a Lupper (lunch and supper) at Chick-Fil-A. It was a great family day together. Amazingly enough, both kids had energy to spare when we got home and Justin and I were ready to crash! (There aren't many Hannah pictures, I have so many zoo pictures with her, that I focused more on Hayden this time...which sounded like a great plan, until I started uploading these and now I feel guilty!)

What a difference a year makes. Last August on Hannah's last week of summer, my mom helped me take Hannah and a 3 week old Hayden to the zoo. Here we are almost exactly a year later. Hayden is now 1 year and 3 weeks old (and a few days, but that is almost exactly in my book).

1 year old!

Our little guys is a year old. It's hard to believe that a year has gone by already. With two active ones, the days just fly by! I know I am a little late getting these stats in, but at least they are here now! When we had our doctor's appointment, he got his finger pricked and blood drawn. He just watched the nurse with great fascination and never made a peep. When he got all shot up he cried (not even screamed) and then when I picked him up, he was done. He is a brave little guy!
  • 19.15 pounds, 27% (up from 9% at 9 months)
    • pretty sure he has managed to get over the 20 pound mark this past week, he is loving some whole milk!
  • 29.5 inches, 34% (up from 11%)
  • head is in the 39%
  • overall growing proportionally and finally starting to catch up...
  • wears some 6 month clothes, but mostly still in 9 months with the occasional 6-12 month outfit fitting fine
  • has 5teeth
  • bites, hard
  • cruises, walks holding hands and pushing (anything that moves really) but not steady enough to let go
  • crawls, fast
  • has finally learned how to put himself down from standing, gently
  • down to nursing once a day and drinking whole milk wonderfully
  • drinks from a sippy cup, Hannah's water bottles, Mommy's straws, water bottles, cups, whatever he can put in his mouth
  • eats twice what his sister eats and isn't too picky, occasionally doesn't care much about meat
  • loves balls and anything with wheels
  • LOVES the bath and swimming
  • makes all sorts of noises, constantly, but doesn't have a very extensive vocab yet says: mama, dada, dogdog, yook (look), dude (thank you Daddy for that one)
  • gets into everything, has no sense of fear, and especially wants what he isn't supposed to have (plugs, cords, glass bowls, toilet bowl water, etc..)
  • loves to be outside
