Pumpkin Patch

Wednesday after school we went to the Red Bank Methodist "Homeless Pumpkins" patch. Hannah had a ball. She loves pumpkins and was super excited to go. She touched just about every single pumpkin and had conversations with some scarecrows. She got to pick her very own little pumpkin to take home. She was so much fun to watch!

18 Months Old

Hannah turned 18 months old on Friday. I can't believe she's already a year and a half old. I left school early on Friday to pick her up and get her to the doctor. It was nice to sit on the "well patient" side for a change. She was fine in the waiting room, but as soon as they opened the door for us to go back, the disaster started. She's definitely been to the doctor too often lately. She knows all too well what's going to happen. She checked out just fine though, and the good news is that her ears seem to be cleared. The shots she had a few weeks ago finally did the trick. She got her routine shots this time, and we added on the flu shot while she was already miserable. Luckily, no more vaccinations until she's four. Hopefully there won't be any more ear infection shots either! She went up to the 36th % in weight (which was good) and went down from 94% to 38th % in height. Everyone still thinks she's very tall for her age, and we were quite surprised by that stat. Her head is in the 64th%.

Here are a few of her "highlights":

• loves to sing and go to music class. She sings words to real songs along with the music, and without the music as well. She also loves to just sing made-up songs.
• she can identify some colors (she told me my earring were blue randomly one day)
• she can identify the number 9 and will tell you if you have 2 of something
• sings the first part of the alphabet song
• can identify and say almost every single body part ( says eye bows instead of eye brows, but points to the right item)
• speaks in some sentences
• talks all of the time, and can be understood more and more
• still uses sign language with her real words, and adds new signs as soon as I show them to her ("help" is still her favorite)
  
• makes great connections (saw a giraffe on a happy meal bag and said "giraffe" then she said "I feed" - which she did at the zoo a few weekends ago)
• loves her dog "Kody baby"
• loves to play with her babies
• wants to drink nothing but milk
• has HUGE temper tantrums (usually over milk)
• is very stubborn
• has 10 teeth (or at least parts of 10 teeth) - she's very slow with teeth!
  

I could keep going, but what mother wouldn't?

It's About Time - Congrats!!!!

Finally. Mr. Grayson will officially become Uncle Grayson in April. Congrats to both of you, we've been waiting for a while to have this happen and couldn't be happier for you!!!!!!!!

Welcome Home, Anna!

Friday night, one of my very best friends, Anna, and her family came to visit us. It was so special. Most of you probably know about Anna. The Lees are missionaries in the Middle East. They have been gone since Maggie was 10 months old, and she'll be 3 this week! It was so wonderful to spend some time with them, and for our girls to meet each other too. Unfortunately, Hannah was terrible for their visit. I've never been so embarrassed by her before! I"m sad that Anna and her family didn't get to see the sweet, adorable Hannah that we get to see most of the time. Saturday morning we took the girls to the zoo and they had a good time. We said good-bye in the zoo parking lot, in hopes of seeing her again soon. Baby Farrah will be born in mid-November and then they leave for overseas again in early March. We will have to cram in some more visits! In two weeks, they are coming back to speak to my parents' Sunday School Class, so we know we'll be seeing them soon.

Potty Time?

Okay, so here's a "butt shot" but, I couldn't help it. Hannah has recently decided she is going to poop-poop in the potty. So, what do we do...go out and buy our 17 month old a potty. She really is very interested and has pooped several times in the grown-up potty. Unfortunately the past few days (since having the little potty) her latest medication has given her diarrhea and she will tell you "poop-poop" but then it's too late. She still wants to sit on the potty though. Her favorite thing to do is wave to the poop in the toilet bowl and tell it "bye-bye". If nothing else, she is at least letting us know when she needs to be changed! The other day she put her doll on the potty and made her grunt. Then she checked the toilet, said "no poop-poop" then checked her doll's diaper and said "no poop-poop". I think she's got the idea. Now if she just knew what pee-pee was...

Washing The Car

Hannah loves to help her Daddy do whatever he is doing. Two weekends ago (I know, I'm way behind again) she had a blast helping him wash the car. She loves to look at her reflection in the paint and more importantly, she loved the water in the hose. Daddy sure does love his little helper!
