Happy 2nd Birthday!

Hannah turned two last Friday. Here is "the bow picture" from last year and this year. Wow. What a difference a year makes. We went for her 2 year old check-up yesterday afternoon and everything looks good, even her ears. They were clear and her tubes were "white and clear". Excellent. He said she looked great, and seemed to be ahead of the curve for her age group developmentally.

Here are a few highlights:
  • 27 pounds, 56th %
  • 35 inches tall, 82nd %
  • daytime potty trained
  • can put on every article of clothing independently (shoes do get mixed up occasionally)
  • recognizes that letters are "ABCs" but doesn't really recognize individual letters - she will however recognize if her name is on something
  • talks constantly and can be understood most of the time
  • talks in complete sentences most of the time, using details ("I want that one way up high.")
  • likes most foods, but has "on" days and "off" days
  • loves animals (especially Kodak and the cats next door)
  • Loves her babies, books (she lets you know if you skip words or pages!), and balls
  • Runs everywhere and is famous for her "peg leg dance
  • can hop with two feet leaving the ground
  • loves music and dancing
  • gets very excited for "projects"
  • has to buckle herself into her seats
  • can count to 20 but gets stuck a lot after 14
  • loves to sing songs and say her prayers
Wow, I know there is so much more, but I think you can see how proud we are of her :)

I have so many more pictures to share, and am probably just going to link to a page, as I have too many favorites to upload them all onto this blog. Stay tuned!

Overload

Wow. We've had an overloaded weekend. Hannah's birthday was Friday (zoo plans got rained out), her party was Saturday, and Easter today.

I have pictures of all, and will do a very nice update sometime soon (tonight maybe?)...right now Hannah is playing nicely in her room next door with her new kitchen.

There are a few pictures on Facebook that others took of her party, so you can head there for a little sneak peek :)

The next step in strawberry pickin'

Strawberry shortcake of course! We made some shortcake biscuits (neither Justin or I are fans of just pound cake, so I didn't want to make a huge recipe) using a quick and easy Bisquick recipe. It was perfect. We cut the recipe in half so we'd just have a few biscuits. Hannah loved rolling the dough and using a cookie cutter to make heart shapes. She figured out that she could pinch the dough and it tasted good. You'll notice one of the finished products that was reserved for Hannah only :)She loved the finish product and immediately wanted more. I only gave a her a little part of her biscuit so she'll get a special treat today as well :)

Strawberries!

Tuesday we went strawberry picking with the Taylor family. Hannah loved it! She picked a few strawberries at the beginning and put them in the bucket, but after that she realized she could eat them. It's a good thing you don't pay for what you eat. She ate more than I could count. Austin and Logan helped by giving her the little "baby ones" as Hannah called them. She didn't really care what size they were, and shoved large ones in her mouth as well. Many times she had one in each hand. The strawberries this year are big and juicy (as you can see) and I highly recommend a visit to the strawberry patch!

The first few made it in the bucket...Her first bite (notice the wind blowing her pony tail).

This one was hard. Hannah used both hands and pulled for a while. It's the juicy one in the picture above.

Even when we went to the car for a potty break, she kept eating. Thank goodness for baby wipes!

Aunt Jessica's Wedding

The wedding was beautiful, and everything that Jessica had hoped it would be. Hannah too. She had an absolute blast. She danced, and danced, and then danced some more. The child had more energy than that crazy bunny! We are a little worried about our future with our little party girl. As we were turning into the fairgrounds for the party, Hannah said to the other cars on the road "No peoples, MY party!". I wish she were as good at the wedding portion. Poor Mimi didn't see any of the ceremony ("Look Nana, I got raisins"; "Two violins!"; "Hi Daddy, Hi Daddy!") as she had to keep our noisy girl out of the sanctuary. The flower wreath was a disaster too. I did get a few pictures of her with it on, using a stolen camera (Not really, Michelle let me use it, I just don't think she realized how many pictures I would take - I can't wait to get those pictures from her!)

I stole all these pictures from some of Jessica's great friends and family, as my camera (or so I thought) had a dead battery. It turns out I ended up with my mother's camera, and her battery died. Either way, I didn't end up with many pictures of the wedding or reception. I have put some of my best photos from the prewedding activities in an album on my Facebook page. Hopefully if you're reading my blog, you are also a friend on facebook, otherwise that is kind of scary!!!!!

Not Quite a Year

These pictures aren't quite a year apart (March 2011 and May 2010), but wow, they grow up fast!
